About Complete Workwear Laundry Services

Robert Stewart started cleaning grease and stains from the clothes of meat workers and caterers in 1979, gaining a steady flow of customers as he took on laundry challenges that others couldn’t tackle.

Today, the company he founded, Complete Workwear Laundry Services, has built up a broad client base, laundering millions of items each year in two major Tullamarine laundry facilities.

Australia’s first Indigenous-owned commercial laundry is also the nation’s largest Indigenous-owned laundry and Robert’s daughter Nicole, who is now CEO and owner, has built an award-winning business certified by Supply Nation.

The company has built an outstanding reputation for price, service quality and reliability and today provides laundry services for 19 airlines, dozens of hospitality clients, universities, manufacturing facilities and government departments.

Equipped with state-of-the art commercial washing equipment, the company is differentiated by its commitment to staff and service.

Vision

Our Vision is to showcase the capacity of an Indigenous business to help grow supplier diversity in Australia. Complete Workwear is a very successful business in its own right which happens to be run by Indigenous people. We want to lead by example by growing a commercially-viable business that can promote a model of financial independence for all Australian Aborigines. Complete Workwear Laundry Services believes that building positive relationships with our Customers, Suppliers and Staff is a very important part of everyday business.

Staff

We believe our staff are the reason we have a successful business. With many of our staff being employees for well over 10 years we feel that we have sourced the best of the best in the Laundry/Dry-Cleaning Industry.

Meet Nicole

As CEO and owner of Complete Workwear, Nicole Stewart takes a very hands-on role, starting work at 4am each day to supervise staff and ensure customers receive serviced items on time, every time.

Ms Stewart has worked with the company for 30 years, contributing to its development as a large-scale commercial laundry before taking over as owner and CEO. In 2011 accepted the national ‘Indigenous in Business’ award.

As a proud Taunurung woman, Ms Stewart tries to give back to others who have had a tough start, providing employment opportunities to women who have escaped from domestic violence or who are seeking a fresh start after a prison sentence. Staff are both Indigenous and non-Indigenous, and tightly supervised to ensure the business continues to thrive – reflecting the values of integrity, service and respect that the business has been built on.
